IJ SPACE was founded in 2014 by Taiwanese recorder player Yi-Chang Liang and Japanese harpsichordist Machiko Suto in Amsterdam.

In each program they have been performing various style of music; not only early music but also new pieces which they have commissioned with composers to broaden the repertoire and seek the new possibilities.

They have performed in Holland, Italy, Germany, Japan and Taiwan so far, including famed concert halls like Oumigakudou in Tokyo (Japan), National Recital Hall in Taipei (Taiwan) and and TivoliVredenburg (Grote Zaal & Hertz) in Utrecht.

They got the first prize and the Mayor prize at the 19th edition of the Biagi-Marini Wettbewerb In Neuburg an der Donau, Germany in 2018, the third prize at the International Van Wassenaer Competition 2018 in Utrecht, Holland and Young Audience Award.
